Cello LessonsWhen I was 17, my teacher went abroad for a month to perform in Europe and the UK. He asked me to teach his other pupils while he was away.
I found myself bitten by the teaching bug and have taught ever since. Playing the cello takes you into an endlessly fascinating, subtle, and complex world of fantasy, puzzles, deep resonance and emotions. And there is all that wonderful music to play! I teach all levels and ages, from school students to retired adults, including students from Oxford University and Oxford Brookes University. I am happy to prepare students for exams, but also feel that exams are not for everyone. I am always looking for ways to develop and streamline technique so that entering the world of the music, and expressing what it has to say, can become the priority. I am based in East Oxford, but I am also happy to teach on Zoom. |
